Physiotherapy

We treat people, not just their pain. With our extraordinary level of compassionate, individualised care, physiotherapy is focussed on healing the whole patient through;

  • Personalised evaluation
Each patient receives a comprehensive individual evaluation, setting collaborative goals to help maximise movement.
  • Hands-on manual therapy
Each session includes gentle, expert mobilisation of the affected area(s) using resullts driven manual therapy techniques.
  • Directed therapeutic exercise
Programs are individually tailored for each patient to increase mobility and strength and promote fast healing. We offer exercise prescription through a global platform, providing easy-to-follow videos, pain tracking, and progress monitoring. Exercises can be accessed via an App, sent via email or printed to take home.
  • Biomechanical & functional retraining
Understanding and optimising the body’s movement patterns to improve function, reduce pain, and prevent injury is essential for recovery. These approaches are particularly beneficial for rehabilitation, sports performance, and daily functional activities.
  • Education
Education is a cornerstone of physiotherapy, empowering patients with the knowledge and tools to actively participate in their recovery, health maintenance, and injury prevention. It complements hands-on treatments and exercises by fostering understanding and long-term behavioural changes.
  • Innovative, proven treatments
As an evidence-based practice, we integrate research with clinical expertise to tailor a treatment program focused on the best outcome for each patient. In addition to formal qualifications, our physiotherapists have advanced training in areas such as plasters and casting, orthotic prescription, sports injury management, neurological conditions and post-operative recovery. We aim to give quality care to patients by helping them understand their condition, providing physiotherapy services suitable for their injury and working with other healthcare providers to reduce their symptoms and injury reoccurrence.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Physiotherapy uses a variety of techniques to help your muscles and joints work to their full potential. It can help repair damage by speeding up the healing process and by reducing pain and stiffness. Physiotherapy also plays a vital role in rehabilitation; for example, helping people who have had strokes relearn basic movements.

All physiotherapists in Australia are required to be registered by law. Registration as a physiotherapist is only possible after completion of a university degree in physiotherapy or health sciences.

An appointment will usually be available within 24-48 hours; though where possible, we try and find an appointment on the same day.

A referral is not necessary, though if you have one, bring it with you so that the physiotherapist can communicate with the referring practitioner if required.

Payment is made after each consultation, either by credit card, eftpos, or cash. Please contact us for an up to date list of charges.

We have a TYRO system on site which directly communicates with your Health Fund. After your Health Fund rebates the fee, you will only be required to pay the gap.

The amount of the rebate will vary from fund to fund and will depend on your level of cover. It may be best to consult with your Fund directly to get an estimation of the rebate.

Philip Wood Physiotherapy is a BUPA preferred partner, a member of the HCF More for Muscles Program and a NIB preferred provider.
